I have a query about the current location of this aircraft. This is the one that was at the Air New Zealand Training School, Christchurch from 1971. I have a note "Sold - owner in Rolleston, reportedly under rebuild to airworthy" The latest Wings Directory I have (vol 18) lists it in the Christchurch area within the 'Aircraft By Type' index, but I cannot find any entry for it in the accompanying 'Aircraft By Location' pages. One usually reliable source states that the aircraft is now in the Auckland area. So - update please - where, when, and with whom? NZ1044 in an earlier life

The Harvard at Christchurch in 1971 would have been with the NAC Apprentice School (ANZ was an Auckland based airline at that stage). I have colour photos of it marked with the NAC Godwit, in white and red scheme, although it carried no identity as such. David D

Correct, Warbird enthusiast owner (a fairly laid back fellow) and NZ1044 are still located near Rolleston, on the outskirts of Christchurch as of 2015. Apparently owner has been collecting the missing apprentice 'souvenired' parts from its stint as an instructional air frame at Air Nz. Supposedly very low airframe hours, planning return to airworthyness as funds permit or so I've heard from sources he talks to at Omaka

HI Peter Been a few years since I saw 1044 - and it is in pretty good shape - but stored, hopefully to fly again I gather. Couple of (older) photos
