Dave, While waiting for the traffic lights to change outside Cronulla (NSW) railway station recently - and talking on my mobile (sorry traffic cops) - my jaw dropped to see a guy in the crowd in front of the shops wearing a black "Wings over NZ" t-shirt. I had to look twice but confirm is was one of yours. Quite a surprise.... not unlike seeing a Temora Aviation Museum Spitfire baseball cap being worn by one of the locals on the "Anticlockwise" bus on Rarotonga ! Pays to advertise.

He would for sure but it was to him that I was talking on the mobile phone when I saw the guy wearing the t-shirt not him wearing it.

They're very much a limited edition shirt and not many went to Aussie. I am sure it wasn't Craig Brankin as he's been in NZ for past month and is still here.

Hi Guys I went to the 3 days of the Omaka Airshow at Easter and while I was aware that there would be a bunch of forum members there, I never did see anyone wearing a T shirt like the one mentioned by Mustang. So is that what the members were wearing at Omaka or is there some other identifying garb available and worn? Spoke with Al while he was tinkering with the Bristol, and also one of the old Safeair Pilots, Graeme Stewart who was keeping watch on CPT. Met Joe Sue another old Safeair Bristol Pilot in the crowd on the Saturday. Had a brief word with Kermit Weeks who was seemingly busy editing the new book he is working on as he sat at the front of the Hangar housing the Masterton TVAL acft. And having been at the Avalon Airshow where the TVAL acft performed on the Friday and Saturday back in February, it is easy to see why the aviators of WWl were described as a Flying Circus. Now only two years to wait for the next Avalon and Omaka displays! KS

We have only ever made forum t-shirts and forum caps Kev. Not many members bought them, but those who did were certainly wearing them at Omaka, I saw a few. Especially at the Saturday night Forum Meet.

What did the T-shirt wearer look like, Ando? Was he young/old? Tall/short? Thin/fat?

Dave, From my dimming memory he looked about late 20s, tall, had a beenie on and that's about it. Was a quick sighting on the eastern side of Cronulla Street in fromt of the 2230 bar. At Omaka I wore my "Wings" T shirt on the Friday with pride !

I was also living in Cronulla for a while with my now ex girlfriend up until recently. She lived on Gerrale St, just up the road from 2230 bar.

I just got my old list out to see where all the T-shirts went. The only ones that went to Aussie were for - Craig Brankin - confirmed to me last night it wasn't him Bob Howard - confirmed above it wasn't him Pete Anderson - obviously not you Ando!
So it had to be either a visitor from NZ, an impostor with a very similar shirt, or a thief! Haha

Dave, if you ever decide to do another run of forum caps and tee-shirts, a legionnaires cap would be great for keeping the sunburn at bay on the back of the neck and sides of the face while attending airshows.... — I'd be a definite customer for something like that. In fact, I'd probably grab two so I had a spare.

Dave,
I can say the same as Kiwithrottlejockey. Another black T-shirt and this time a baseball cap for me ! The shirt was most surely a Wings design. That's why it struck me so clearly. As I said, it was like the day I saw a local on Rarotonga, Cook Islands (for the overseas types) travelling on the Anticlockwise bus and wearing a Temora Spitfire cap. I had to ask him where he obtained it and he said it had been given to him by a visitor

At this stage there will be no more shirts. However I have given some thought to some more sun-friendly hats and was looking at something more like this with the logo on the front: When I get some time I'll look into it. In the meantime I'll see if they can do one of these for you Bruce: Darth's fishing hat
