Anyone have any images of Alan Pearts Spitfire MK VIII's?
It's the subject of my latest model build, and the references seem to point to a slightly unusual scheme of a dark (Chocolate) Brown and green over a light blue.
I've gone with a Azure blue for the light blue underside but wouldn't mind some thoughts on the colours for the top.
I have the Ventura Publications "the Anzac's " book as my only reference and I've ordered his Autobiography from Amazon (but don't have it yet)
All advice welcomed.

you could ask Alan yourself - he has a great memory of those days.

I was going to mention that! I'm sure a WONZ member can help out with contact details.

Thanks all, the photos are quite handy. The confirm yellow leading edges, which I haven't painted on mine.
I've cracked on with the model (there's a thread in the modelling sub board) and am ready for decaling so the colours are set. I've probably gone a bit dark on the brown.
In the second photo, is that his aircraft with the kill markings? I thought it was Larry Cronin's?
EDIT: Thanks for the offer of Alan's contact details but I'm not sure I'd like to bother him over something like this. But once it's done I would be nice if someone pointed him towards the build, just in case he'd like a look.

Hi Calum I only just noticed your last post on this thread - it was from a month or so ago. Actually Alan Peart is one of the worlds nicest people and if you contacted him I am sure he would be delighted to hear that you had built a model of his aircraft. He just turned 93 and is in very good health and he has a vivid memory of his flying days. Alan is the last NZ fighter ace still living in NZ - there are 2 maybe 3 still alive but they live overseas - Keith Lawrence in the UK, Owen Hardy UK and Guy Newton Australia. Take my advice - go and see him and show him your model - you won't regret it.

You forget Jack Stafford, he's still living in Rotorua.
