Hi all,
I have just published the history of a often overlooked and neglected bomber squadron, No.623 Squadron. Formed from No.218 (Gold Coast) Squadron in August 1943 the squadron flying from RAF Downham Market, participated in a number of the important raids on Germany, losing a number of crews in the process. Made up almost entirely of Dominion skippers the squadron flying the Short Stirling had its fair share of ups and downs, lossing ten crews before it was disbanded in December 1943. This 260 page history will include numerous never before published photographs, crew by crew biographies, individual aircraft histories and much more.
Signed books can be brought direct from me for £9.49 plus packing.
Paperback: 260 pages Publisher: Mention the War Publications; 1 edition (3 Sept. 2015) Language: English ISBN-10: 0993336000 ISBN-13: 978-0993336003
The book is dedicated to a New Zealander, Pilot Officer Keith Fred Shaw RNZAF. Profits from the book will be used towards the RAF Downham Market Memorial, Norfolk.
Kind regards
Steve
