Many moons ago my late Dad managed to get some free tickets through his work to the premier of epic film the battle of Britain. We saw the film at the Savoy theatre in the north east corner of Cathedral Square in Christchurch. This film played a massive part in my and I am sure many others interest in WW II era aircraft which for me is still as strong nearly forty years on. I'm sure there are many aviation nuts who are fans of this film to this day as I have already stated an epic! Found this interesting link with some great trivia on the film. www.imdb.com/title/tt0064072/trivia

Yes, an absolute epic that has never really dated nor become cringe-worthy like most 1960's films. It's one of my all time favourites.

Superb aerial scenes. Good acting. Great actors.
And endlessly quotable.
