John, there is another owner with two Mustangs who restored both himself, and that's Bob Baker who owns another of the ex-RNZAF P-51D's, NZ2406. Both his are in the 352nd Fighter Group colours of the Patillo twins.

Not sure when it screens in NZ, a heads up for those in Oz, 8.30pm EST Tuesday on the history channel then repeated on Wednesday morning at 4am, looks like the last of the few, Hawker Hurricane this week.

Wow, what a great show, chancing upon the old gem like that in an Indian Uni where she had sat for years.
Getting it out of India!!!!!! Researching her rich history. Then restoring her to her former glory in such an authentic manner, just great stuff. Indiana Jones eat your heart out, as has been said above just a great show, must see for Warbird nuts, can't wait to see the next one.
Thank you to Nik and his team.
(According to the Foxtel guide, Stearman next week.)
Bit of a PS, just watched the Hurricane episode again, did anyone else notice she thumped in a bit landing towards the end there, talk about a three point landing!

Really enjoyed this show so nice to see a younger person so interested in as well as restoring and then flying a Harvard and she is of the fairer sex as well. (Now not wanting to create a boy/girl thing here, I have two daughters!) Just saying that Warbird bug doesn't choose who it bites and it can bite hard!
This begs a question wonder what the future holds for warbirds as younger generations interests lean towards the computer world? I guess it could go two ways at least the net provides a much better way of accessing these machines that was only a dream for people of my interest at a younger age.
I for one have really enjoyed this show wish there was more and by the looks there will be, can't wait!. A must see for those bitten by the Warbird bug!
Such a pity I missed the previous Mustang and DR1, usually these shows get re-runs so will look out for that.
Congrats to Nik Coleman and his crew for some great stuff, thank you!

Excellent! Unfortunately we've just packed the TV away in preparation for house renovations, I'll just have to 'struggle' with the laptop.

Finally got to see the episode of Maurice's restoration of NZ2427 on Netflix. Fantastic coverage and cinematography, but oh so bitter-sweet after the subsequent events. Has anyone heard how Maurice and family are doing recently? My thoughts and best wishes to them.
