The guy is clearly a muppet, he had no show of stopping by the time he got to the intersection. I feel for the poor beggar in the van

Yeah, the guy on the motorbike hit the painted road sign way too fast, the front wheel locked up and let go and he high sided. Totally lucky and stupid at the same time. Right rear wheel of the van climbed over the sliding bike and was kicked up into the air before the tandem axle trailer hit it as well. Van driver totally mystified and shocked no doubt.

What's the bet the guy on the bike has one hell of a sore ASS. He is just lucky the guy in the van didn't kick him on the other side just to even things up.....

He was very lucky in many ways. As noted he actually high-sided which is a nasty way to come off. The last bike accident I had was very similar in that I entered a large roundabout a little too fast. The problem was that I had recently lowered the rear suspension and I ground out when trying to bank around. I was obviously going to slide out so I opted to pop-up and brake heavily. That was not such a good idea either as the bike wasn't stable and just flipped up and threw me into the kerbing. Fortunately I was at a much lower speed by then.
That intersection in the video is a 'Tee'. You have to wonder why he was going so fast and why the braking was left so late. On the plus side, any slower and he would have been placed directly in front of the van.
Panic stopping a van with tandem trailer is no fun either. The van can often lift at the rear and then have the trailer take over the steering duties.
That incident could have been a whole lot worse.

That incident could have been a whole lot worse. Couldn't it just.....hopefully he'll be less of a muppet next time! Last time I high-sided was on a T250 Suzuki in 1970 - Right angle 30mph corner and dug in the side stand bracket (must have had some lean on ) and over the bars I went. Also the very last time I ever rode without wearing gloves!

I wonder why there was a camera facing the intersection, must be a notorious intersection and the local resident decided he might get some good footage.
I also wonder if the van driver stopped.
