Thanks for that cutting Alex. If built in 1942 does the reference to the Battle of Britain mean the film? Did this aircraft actually go to Canada, or is that another inaccuracy? Has the name of the Texas owner been released? They'll have more flying Spitfires in the USa than there are in the UK soon.

Woo! Good to see a local paper take an interest in a project, fantastic stuff! Quite funny, those lil BoB comments! It doesn't say it went to Canada as such, it was merely posted to a Canadian squadron. If I see Graham today I'll ask, as Classic Wings/Downunder has covered this restoration in some depth. ;-)

Yeah I noticed those blunders too Dave. Ahh, reporting just never seems to get it right with aviation does it?

If I recall from our SAA visit, the tail section is off another aircraft that does have BoB history - is that correct Stu?

Well that's interesting Peter. As MK732 was a 485 Sqn Spitfire then it has genuine NZ pedigree. Maybe we should put a claim in to the Treaty of Waitangi Tribunal and see if we can get it to stay here. :-)
