I have a complete set of lesson notes that my grandfather compiled while training, starting on 30/11/42, at Bell Block, New Plymouth, I think ??. He later went on to serve in 5 and 6 in Fiji and Halavo Bay. I also have a Japanese morse key that he pinched from either a crashed Japanese plane or beached ship.
As I am getting on in age I am keen to have these two items preserved for NZers to look at in the future.
I contacted the RNZAF Museum a few years ago but they didn't seem very interested. I think they were more interested in the Skyhawk matter at the time !
Any ideas, collectors around ? I can prepare and post photos if required .... when I learn how !
Cheers all, Mike, Wellington.

I'm sure they will be snapped up pretty quickly, I even downloaded an app on my phone recently to learn basic morse code.

If there is a copy of the RNZAF pre entry course for radio mechanics assignment 5 in the collection I would be interested in getting it.
Its the only one in the series I don't have.

Mike, if the Museum isn't overly interested I'm sure the guys at (insert current name for 2TTS) might be.
Failing that, I wonder if there's a place at Archives NZ...

How about the archives at Classic Flyers Museum?

Hi Dave
Thanks for drawing to my attention. I am alerting Andrew Gormlie, CEO, to this for his consideration.
Regards Planewriting

Thanks for all your replies Gentlemen. Classic Flyers in Tauranga have contacted me so I have sent them some pics. They seem like ideal custodians to me. Mike.
