Absolute classic, I am so pleased I found this, it's been years.
The big taste always gets through!

Thanks Dave. One of the greatest ads of all time Interesting to note that the "air hostess" was one of the cast of that highlight of NZ television - Melody Rules. Years of therapy have almost removed the post traumatic stress I suffered from working on that show ... only the occasional night sweats now Somewhere in the recesses of my brain I tend to remember there was a short run Crunchie ad set on an aircraft - possibly a DC3 - that was overshadowed by the more famous Kingston Flyer Train Robbery one. Cheers, Stu

I never saw Melody Rules. Was it as bad as "For The Love of Mike" starring that bird from Gloss?
I don't recall an avian Crunchie advert, but two I recall were the Twisties ad with the Spitfire pilot, Rupert Baddeley-Bent; and the Cold Water Surf advert with the Grumman flying boat. Neither are on YouTube yet it seems.

I wonder who did the flying and stunts in this Ripples advert. And I assume a helicopter was also involved. Anyone got any behind-the-scenes stories?

Count yourself lucky ..... www.imdb.com/title/tt0271915/"By the time the network realised they had created the worst comedy show since TV transmissions began in the late 1930s, it was too late"Little known fact - after 3 frustrating weeks in post production, the audio master tape for the very first episode of the show survived being dropkicked halfway across the 3rd floor of TV3 by a sound op who shall remain nameless

Hmmm, Belinda Todd in the cast, well that says it all. I wonder where she is these days. The woman who put sleaze into the news...

"Hair Colour - Blonde" - not the Belinda Todd I remember. Fiery red more like! I didn't know she'd been in Shortland Street, but then I don't watch that crap. Does anyone recall that when Shortland Street first began, TV3 also had a new soap which was remarkably more realistic and much better acted, with real locations, etc. It starred a very young Karl Urban. I don't recall its name, but alas the idiots won out in the rating wars...

Good to see the Eta ad once again (and the Europa one as well). Wonder if this had anything to do with a previous version?:
