Hi Andrew, Yes, I can help or at least I have the Ventura serial numbers. However, IMHO its not all that simple. EagleCals have used 'squared' type numbers which look to have a thinner stroke than Ventura, so even matching the shape may not suffice. Ventura's may be thicker ... Interesting to note that Ventura use a 'rounded' five [5] as the last digit on their sheet which includes NZ5255 'C'. This seems odd to me, since recent photographic evidence exists of the discovery of the wreck and the 5's all look the same and look 'squared' to me ... (see Classic Warbirds No 6 pg 43) So I'm inclined to send you all the letters and numbers for the entire serial number. No worries there and no charge. PM me or reply with a postal address. www.venturapublications.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=83&products_id=255Shall we go into the subject of EagleCal's RNZAF Roundel Blue colour? It, like the old Ventura RNZAF Corsairs sheet linked above, I consider too light ... Ventura's new Corsair's sheet is a much better Dark Blue colour, although the shape of the upper wing roundels may not be accurate for an early RNZAF Corsair ...? It depicts a late RNZAF aircraft. www.venturapublications.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=69&products_id=306Hannants Xtradecal possibly do a better shaped earlier roundel in Dark Blue - for NZ5272/5307 rebuild - although here the Blue-White-Blue ratio may be less accurate? And all the roundel-bars are the same US Insignia Blue, whereas our Starboard upper & Port lower insignia on RNZAF machines were all the same colour due to the entire Roundel-Bar being painted on by us ... www.hannants.co.uk/product/X32057As always, I stand to be corrected on any of this. Someone will know definitively. If you already know all this about Roundel-Bar colours forgive me for raising the subject. Best Regards Wally.
