Did anyone else see this on Choice TV last night? I stumbled across it while flicking through channels. English mountaineer Joe Simpson attempts to recreate his fathers experiences in the Chindits in Burma in 1944. Appears to be a few epiosodes (not sure how many but last night was the first).

I never saw it but I am keen to have a watch later, thanks for bringing it to our attention.

It looks interesting for sure! We have no listings publication of any kind so I'd hate to think what we're missing.
BTW - the title made me ask two questions: who is Joe Simpson, and why is Burma waging a war against him?

Watched most of episode one. Joe Simpson's father was a major in the British Army who served with the Chindits. Joe and his mate, plus a camera crew are retracing (where possible) the route the chindits took on one of their missions. The first episode was mainly them travelling through jungle tracks to various campsites mentioned in Joes father's diary. A few sparse film shots of chindits appear at various stages of the doco. At the end of the first episode their travels were halted owing to local factions fighting with units of the national Army.

Funniest part, "This isn't a road" and right then 2 motorbikes come around the corner.
