Further to my having already introduced HJG/HISTORIC JETLINERS GROUP to this forum earlier this year ....
HISTORIC JETLINERS GROUP
.... and following my earlier presentation of its current DC-10 simulations .... among which AIR NEW ZEALAND (full fleet) representation in particular has been produced (refer my following WONZ forum thread)
HJG DC-10 Project & Redevelopment - With An NZ Flavour
.... I thought I´d make a similar presentation in regard to HJG´s DC-8 simulations also and for the benefit of any interested FS enthusiasts here .... since these particular simulations have undergone significant, FDE, panel/gauge, and sound updates throughout 2016 .... as well as similar AIR NEW ZEALAND full fleet branding also.
We/HJG have now completed and released "VERSION 5.4" of our DC-8 simulations (including some minor panel/gauge adjustments too) during March 2015 .... along with a brand new and extremly high quality interior/exterior sound upgrade as well, and which has been compiled exclusively for use with these simulations and released just prior to Christmas (2016).
HJG´s DC-8 simulations are represented by each the following specific aircraft type versions ....
- DC-8 SHIP ONE 1958
PLEASE NOTE: each of the above DC-8 aircraft subjects are supported by credible 2D panels/gauges, accurate FDE (specifically customised for each aircraft type version), and authentic soundpacks by Benoit PLAMONDON. Here´s a selection of audio-visual material relating to the latest versions of the HJG DC-8 simulations ....
DC-8-10/SHIP ONE 1958
DC-8 SHIP ONE PANEL (with simulated water/methanol injection system)
DC-8-10 PANEL (with simulated water/methanol injection system)
DC-8-10 SOUND PACK (P&W JT3C WI turbojet)
PLEASE NOTE: A separate P&W JT3C "no reverse" soundpack is also available for DC-8 SHIP ONE 1958
DC-8-20/30 SOUND PACK (P&W JT4A turbojet)
DC-8-40 SOUND PACK (RR CONWAY 509 fanjet)
DC-8-50 INS PANEL
DC-8-61 INS PANEL
DC-8-50/61 SOUND PACK (P&W JT3D-3B fanjet)
PLEASE NOTE: A separate P&W JT3D-3B soundpack is also available for the DC-8-61
DC-8-62/63 INS PANEL
DC-8-62/63 SOUND PACK (P&W JT3D-7 ducted-fan fanjet)
PLEASE NOTE: A separate P&W JT3D-3B dicted-fan fanjet soundpack is also
available for the standard DC-8-62)
DC-8-71 INS PANEL
DC-8-72/73 INS PANEL
DC-8-71/72/73 SOUND PACK (CFM-56 turbofan)
PLEASE NOTE: A separate CFM-56 soundpack is also available for the DC-8-72
Among the extensive selection of real world textures for the HJG´s DC-8 simulations I´ve purposely represented "the entire AIR NEW ZEALAND DC-8-50 fleet" .... supporting each variation of livery and/or reconfiguration (minor though some of these were) applied to these aircraft between the December 1964 roll-out of our first aircraft (ZK-NZA) and the September 1986 retirement of our last aircraft (ZK-NZD) .... including its Seotember 1989 sale 1983 to KALITTA/AMERICAN
INTERNATIONAL AIRWAYS (N806CK).
Only a selected handful of these AIR NEW ZEALAND DC-8 texture/skins will be downloadable from the HJG website (PLEASE NOTE: THESE HAVE NOT YET BEEN UPLOADED), but, given that "full fleet" representation "HAS" been produced , by me, any of fleet members represented below and among others not illustrated, "ARE" available and "CAN" be obtained directly from myself and for which there´s "NO CHARGE AT ALL" .... of course
Here´s each of the "principle" AIR NEW ZELAND DC-8-50 fleet member liveries, as represented by me, for the HJG DC-8-50 and 50F simulations ....
N9683Z/ZK-NZA (December 1964 rollout)
ZK-NZA (1965) - pre-delivery
ZK-NZA (1965) - delivery (interim TEAL/AIR NZ)
ZK-NZB (1965) - delivery (interim TEAL/AIR NZ white star configuration)

ZK-NZA (1973) - 1973 definitive livery
ZK-NZA (1973) - with black radome
ZK-NZD (1973) - with "1974 Commonwealth Games" legend
ZK-NZD (1974) - with "1974 Commonwealth Games" legend and logo
ZK-NZC (1976) - with white Royal Mail decal
ZK-NZF (1977) - post AIR NZ/NZNAC merger
ZK-NZE (1980) - with blue rudder trailing edge
ZK-NZE (October 1981) - with NZ flag
ZK-NZD (1981) - redelivery post freighter conversion
ZK-NZD (1983) - 1982 definitive AIR NZ CARGO livery
ZK-NZD (1986) - PDL International Singapore/Christchurch Air Race logos
N806CK/ZK-NZD (1989) - parting out/post sale livery
All HJG DC-8 simulation feature appropriate external night-lighting effects .... as follows ....
PLEASE NOTE: AIR NEW ZEALAND DC-8-50´s were among the very few of these aircraft, in the world, that were equipped with tail/logo illumination when this night-lighting system was introduced during the early 1970´s.
SO .... there it "IS" folks .... an introduction to the HJG DC-8 simulations .... and with a distinctly New Zeland flavour added
PLEASE NOTE: All FS support related queries in regard to any of these simulations should be directed to the HJG forum at the groups above-stated
HJG DC-8 SIMULATION FS COMPATIBILITIES
- All HJG supplied DC-8 3D models and FDE are FS2004 compatible/native but FSX portable.
- All HJG supplied DC-8 2D panels are FS2004 compatible/native but FSX portable.
- All HJG supplied DC-8 soundpacks are represented by separate FS2004 and FS specific/native file versions.
PLEASE NOTE: These new AIR NEW ZEALAND DC-8 texture subjects are "NOT YET" available for public downloading.
