Looking at the aircraft registration amendments for September, I see that the old Bush Aviation Tiger ZK-BLM ex NZ1484 has been restored to airworthy. This aircraft last flew in 1959, and after storage at Gore was taken to Mandeville by H Richardson. Later to Yaldhurst Transport Museum, then to Ray Richardson of Gore for Gore Air Force Museum. Sad to note also that the replica Nieuport 24 ZK-JOZ from Omaka has been sold to an overseas buyer. This aircraft arrived in NZ in 2003, and was the one with the black heart symbol painted on then fuselage. Presumably it has returned to the USA.

No, she's been traded with the Old Rhinebeck folks for some stuff. Apparently she was a real dog to fly, so perhaps it's for the best! We DO still have the other Nie.24 here, in the AHC here at Omaka. She still flies, and is a real sweetie according to one of her pilots.
Nice news re 'BLM - you can never have enough Tigers! Love to see a flypast of 20+ sometime.

New owners for BLM is given as "Claymore Ltd P O Box 30-120 St Martins CHRISTCHURCH 8002", which could mean anything.
Looks like we might get something new/interesting to replace the Nieuport then.

Love to see a flypast of 20+ sometime. I always thought the NZ aircraft register to be a bit vague when it comes to details. I imagine that the Nieuport now in AHC is then ZK-NIE? What has me confused is that on Airliners.net, judging by the colors, the Nieuport shown that went to ORA is listed as ZK-NIE, not ZK-JOZ flying at Classic Fighters earlier this year. www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?aircraft_genericsearch=Nieuport%2024&distinct_entry=trueWell, at least AHC kept the better of the two. I should be making a trip down your way early next year on business and intend to steal away for a day or so to visit the museum. Thanks, Paul

Surely a Nieuport that is a 'dog to fly' is a faithful replica of the original? These machines weren't designed or built to fly like a Cherokee 140 so why should they?
