Yesterday I had the pleasure of going out on a boat, fishing from Tauranga.
As we came back into the harbour approximately at about 3.30pm or 4pm, a white Dakota flew overhead right above the Mount.
Was this ZK-DAK returning to Auckland? Or is ZK-AMY back in the air after her engine mishap?

AMY is still in Wellington with an engine missing, so must have been DAK.

Beautiful photo Colin. After years of being there, I never thought I would actually miss the sound of P&W radials thrashing through the Ardmore air but strangely enough, I do.

All of which begs the question how many working hours are lost annually with employees looking out the window watching for warbirds..... ;D
Guilty as charged...if it has a P&W or a 400 hp Lycoming(Fu24) and flies over I gotta stop work and have a look. Also my van stops and watches topdressing operations when I'm out on the road......... ;D

Yes it was,but Taupo was dead as a dodo, just the usual suspects sitting on the ground waiting for jumpers. Nothing worth taking a pic of......
