Also a Portfield 35-70 also in Blenheim from the US - anybody have any info or photos on this?

Sopwith Triplane? I thought the Shuttleworth collection had the only one. Interesting stuff.

Doesnt the company that builds the SE5's own the design rights plus all the drawings? So technically they are just late production models? ? haha....nice....2007 SE5!

The latest Classic Wings issue which arrived today says two Fokker D.VIII replicas are also coming to NZ soon, built for a customer in New Zealand.
The Porterfield 35/70 (formerly NC14480) is owned by Trevor and Niki Collins, who have also imported a Fairchild F-24C8C (formerly N18617). The Porterfield should fly next year, but the Fairchild needs a complete rebuild.

Wasn't there a Fairchild in pieces at Omaka a couple of years ago ? Does anyone know if Peter Jackson intends to build an FE2 around that Beardmore engine he owns ?

No-one's allowed to know Peter Jackson's intentions, it's top secret, always...

Hi all!
TC's Fairchild is a radial one - pic in the Classic Wings Dave mentioned - and yes, the other 24 project at Omaka is still there....and for sale, if you're keen!
Ooooh, Tripehound!!! There are a coupla Triplane replicas floating around, and one original which was flying into the 1990s but is now at RAF Hendon (I think?). And it sure would be nice to see those D.VIIIs around the country! Yum!
I'm sure the details about the Triplane, any possible FE.2 etc will come out in due course. Maybe something nifty for CF'09? Sure would be cool if it happened!

Hi , I reckon this aircraft might be the one mentioned in Naki's post above...(Sopwith triplane at Duxford 2007). this pair really caught my eye, had to smile, as I hadn't seen a real or replica dr1 until Omaka earlier this year!....kiwitone
