He's the same guy who shut down a heli op in Stratford. They are taking CAA to court over it. I think there's some serious dodging going on here...

A lot of cryptic chatter about this in the Helicopters in NZ Facebook group - not the sort of thing I'm inclined to delve into but, as Pete says, a very questionable series of events.

In New Zealand, anything involving helicopter pilots is always questionable!!! The last time I ran into Tim Wallis, I was chatting to him about a mutual acquaintance, Colin Tuck, and how he was flying in New Guinea these days, and Tim chuckled and said, “You know, the CAA have hounded all of us old-school helicopter pilots out of the business in NZ. They don't like the way we do things, which is why people like Tucky have to bugger off overseas to keep flying!” We were having a laugh about the time Colin Tuck featured on an episode of Country Calendar back in the 1990s and crashed a Hughes 500 which was being used as a camera ship while filming Dave Saxton at work up the Landsborough Valley; with the entire crash sequence being captured by the cameraman and shown on the Country Calendar episode. What was hilarious was Colin's attitude to the crash, brushing it off as just another bent chopper “notch on the belt”, with Dave Saxton then bragging that he had written off more helicopters than Colin had. It was a classic piece of footage and I taped it on VHS at the time, then years later copied it to DVD.

I also laid a complaint with CAA about my treatment during an engineering audit in 2015 by this Walter Mitty charleton. Good riddance!
