Sir Ken Hayr's ex-Swiss Vampire FB.6?
The Stampe SV-4 imported in the mid-late 90s?
The Alpine Fighter Collection Fw-190 projects at Christchurch?
The Vampire gate guard at Ohakea? (driving past there today my Mum asked about it)
The Lodestar XUS?
The DH Drover?
Harvard ENE?
The Commemorative Air Force at Dairy Flat?
Just out of curiosity...

I remember back in the mid to late 90's, looking into a open top container with 4 quite straight wings which I am sure were from the 190's. They were obvioulsy in need of a lot of work but looked in one bit. I believe that when the 190 projects left Wigrim, some parts were donated to the museum

The Ohakea gate Vampire was NZ5772.
Lodestar 'ZK-XUS' at Rhodes museum, Wanaka.
The Drover returned to Australia in 1988 as VH-FBC. Now owned by Powerhouse Museum, Sydney and on loan to the Aviation Museum at Bankstown.
Harvard ZK-ENE is listed as owned by Southair Ltd., Mosgiel and is currently registered.

Sir Ken Hayr's ex-Swiss Vampire FB.6? I was told once he owned a Venom that's stored at Ardmore but I don't know if that is confused with Grant Biel's ZK-VNM also stored at Ardmore. Was there a second Venom? Apparently the guy who was going to restore the aircraft to flight was a con artist, he ended up in prison, the AFC very out of pocket and the aircraft all overseas. I had hoped Hurricane Tim would have detailed such things as this to confirm or correct the rumours, but alas that otherwise excellent book wholly neglected the warbird side of Tim Wallis's life whilst detailing all the other business ventures. It's still at Ohakea, in a hangar, under slow restoration. Search the foirum for Ohakea Open Day threads, photos appear. Sadly grounded at Wanaka in the Toy museum. Apparently CAA wouldn't allow passenger rides and it became uneconomical to fly it, so the rumour mill says. That went to Alpine Fighter Collection for a while, didn't it, before the current owner? It was painted into US Navy colours in dark blue. They're still there, they still have a lovely Harvard in US colours and the Beech 18, which hasn't flown for some time. They seem to be resurging lately with new divisions such as military vehicles (in co-operation with Motat) and re-enactors, as well as aviation.

Good stuff, thanks Dave! Much appreciated on all fronts.
Ken's Vampire was mentioned in a news article in a 2001 issue of Classic Wings, as was his tragic death. It basically said it was ex-Swiss, an FB.6, and would be another interesting addition to the Kiwi warbird scene. But a VENOM too? That's fantastic!

Sir Ken Hayr's ex-Swiss Vampire FB.6? In storage (disassembled) with the Subritzkys. If you look carefully you can just make out the canopy over the starboard wing of the NF.11.

ENE, as mentioned owned buy SouthAir. After its most recent ooooppps (engine failure due oil loss), which was only quite soon after a rebuild due to a landing incident, the syndicate put the aircraft up for sale in an "as is where is" state. It was purchased by SouthAir for rebuild and then perhaps onwards sale.

what are the plans for the NF.11? Going to fly her? What is the airframe to its right and in front of the Vampire? The long term plan for the Meteor is to make her airworthy, front left is a Hind(?-Dave?) frame and on the extreme right is the Oxford.

That frame looks more like Vincent to me right now but I'll have to check my photos when I get home sometime after tomorrow.

Is that the same MiG 21 that was on show at Manukau? I got to sit in it, they were charging a few bucks for a photo. Last I saw it, the MiG was out the back of a freight company near the airport.

It was only in Christchurch temporary to promote the opening of the vodka bar but has since been relocated. Not sure where. Anyone?
