Many of you will recall that at our Waikato get together a few weeks ago, we had a raffle that raised funds for two worthy aviation heritage projects. One of them was the Ashburton Aviation Musuem's new hangar fund. I duly sent off the donation of $85.00 (half the raised amount) to Mr Jim Chivers of the museum. He has kindly replied with a nice letter which i think everyone here should see: I have to say it's really nice that we could help contribute to a great cause like this, and it is also neat that we may get some more enthusiastic members for the forum when Jim spreads the word. It would be great to have some insiders from that go-ahead museum here on the forum. As Jim mentioned, he kindly enclosed a newsletter and another piece on the recent 65th Anniversary gathering at Ashburton. I can scan these and add them here for other members to read if you're interested. Their newsletter is absolutely first class.

That's a nice reply from the museum, Dave.
They have a wonderful collection down at Ashburton, and it'd be great to see it housed in a bigger hangar in the not too distant future.

That's really good that the site got some acknowledgement too. Well done Dave.
