Hi yes, actually I was there last week and took these pice.
What an awesome bunch of guys. So friendly and willing to show me about, I really appreciated it.
The attention to detail is simply amazing!!! This wil be without a doubt the most accurate and complete Anson in the world flying and static I am sure.
The target date to fly is Omaka next year.
I am having problems with photobucket and cant seem to upload any more pics. Will try again tomorrow
Cheers

Amazing pictures, sure will be great to see a world war 2 bomber in nz. I understand they ended uf with another fuse for the wind shield etc? Is it true that a Hudson is next in line for restoration?

Yes they have a second Anson which is planned for static restoration once this one is flying, and yes they have an ex-RNZAF Hudson, also to be restored to static condition.
Great photos Anthony. It seems a bit behind the schedule that they told me last year but still terrific to see coming together. Great to know it's also in the colours of one flown by a New Zealander in britain.

That is fantastic! Who's putting this together?
Great to see one of the forgotten aircraft of WWII being remembered.

Omaka is going to be huge next year if the Anson and Deere spitfire are maybe going to make it! I imagine there will be several new world war 1 aeroplanes as well. I remember a few years ago seeing a add in Classic Wings regarding an Avenger and Yak 7 syndicate being set up that way.....still going ahead or not enough interest?

The folks putting it together are Bill and Toby Reid, as well as a fair amount of volunteers (?). And from the looks of it they're doing a SUPERB job getting her back to true, authentic early mark form! Congrats gents!
Oh yes, Omaka will be big! Will be so cool to see what can be there. I'm not too sure about the Avenger, but the Yak may still be a goer....as with all things like this, I'm sure we'll find out all we need to when the time is right.
