I went into Wrights Bookshop in Cambridge today and I spotted a new book that I'd never seen nor heard of before called 'Classic Planes' by Ivor Wilkins. the book is HUGE, at a guess it's 50mm thick, maybe more, and wow it's so heavy. I had a quick flick through and it is a gorgeous production, with loads of photos and lots of history of New Zealand aviation. The price was $95.00. I took a snap of the cover and thought I'd give a heads up to the book lovers here.

WOW that image took a long time to download! Almost line by line of the image... Interesting book too! Under $100, I'll see if it is here at Paper Plus too.

Yes I should have reduced the size of the image but was in a rush.

I've seen a review of this - latest New Zealand Aviation newspaper I think? Reviewed as generally good, with a few obvious errors..... definitely worth a look

It looks huge! I've seen an ad for it on Facebook, I can't remember which page it was on. I'll have to take a look at the book next time I'm in our local branch.

It is quite significant, Zac. It may become my Xmas present to me and "The End of the Iroquois" will become an early birthday present.

I noticed that book at Paper Plus in Masterton about a week ago and picked up a copy and thumbed through it, but I've got so many NZ aviation books of roughly that format, that I haven't gone back to it, although I'll possibly purchase a copy eventually, perhaps in the Boxing Day to New Year sales if any of the bookshops around here still have any copies left and on sale for a discounted price, as is often the way at that time of the year.
