By: Sue Dudman sue.dudman@wanganuichronicle.co.nz Ohakea Air Base is set to host a double celebration. The first Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) pilots trained using the T-6C Texan II integrated pilot training system will graduate on Friday, November 24. The T-6C aircraft are purpose-built for military training. The graduating pilots will receive their brevets following the consecration and presentation of a new standard for the re-established No 14 Squadron. No 14 Squadron was formed in 1942 as the RNZAF's first fighter unit. The squadron deployed into several theatres then took on the role of advanced pilot training in 1972. It was disbanded in December 2001 and re-established with the introduction of the T-6C Texan II trainers in 2015. www.nzherald.co.nz/wanganui-chronicle/news/article.cfm?c_id=1503426&objectid=11946339
