Vintage V12 rebuilders of Allisons and Merlins. Not a small operation as near the beginning of the tour the guide said there were 16 engines under rebuild! New Zealand connection mentioned too!

Great stuff, really interesting. Especially the mention of Buchons for New Zealand!
It would be cool to be their neighbours and hear the engine test runs regularly.

Yes I caught that and was wondering if it was the chap in Wellington but if I recall his one was a real 109. Who would have thought we'd have Buchons in NZ! (Apart from the one that visited for Wanaka of course).

We almost had one based here, but it was sold on.

I understand that there are some BF109F? being restored in Blenheim, but a Buchon potentially a lot sooner is exciting (assuming sooner as engine is being assembled) need to get the FW190 back in the air to have them side x side! Saying that IF I had a Buchon I would be investigating the Allison conversion.

Bloody awesome. What an amazing place, and an amazing tour thanks to Kermit and José. I love the way Kermit makes the viewer feel like they're part of it, just coming along and discovering everything with him.
