I can confirm it is happening, because I've been hearing them all day today so far.
It's perfect weather in Wairarapa for the championships, mostly blue skies, sunshine and a gentle breeze.
I am currently at work (just starting, working through until after midnight), so no chance of checking it out this afternoon.
However, I'll probably be heading to Hood Aerodrome tomorrow for TVAL's flying weekend, so might get to see some competition aerobatics as well.

Champion of Champions (highest overall percantage) was Murray Rogers flying the CT4 JMV.
