Just thought that I would post my best wishes for Christmas and the New Year to everyone. Have met some very great friends here. Enjoyed following the various forae and to meeting with many of you over the years and hope to continue to do so for a very long time yet. So to all of you and your families and friends...... Merry Christmas.
Just think of what is in store for 2018 !!!...... all I need is for it NOT to be 40 C on Christmas Day !
Cheers
Ando

Merry Christmas from sunny W.A too!
BTW, anyone else working on the 25th? Once again I've drawn the short straw, but in theory the next 7 Christmases I'll be on my R&R....

I prefer to ignore Xmas, but this year my sister has got our brother over from Brisbane, so if I don't turn up at her place on Christmas Day, I'll never hear the end of it.
Unfortunately, Wairarapa trains never run on Christmas Day, so I can't use that as an excuse.
I'm working all the other days around Xmas though, until New Year when I get three days off starting on New Year's Eve.

27 degrees in Sydney at 0530 this morning and yesterday it hit 44.1 in Penrith. Hottest December day ever there. Off on 22, food coma for Christmas Day then watching the Test on Boxing Day. Fly to Coolangatta for four days over New Year with a bunch of friends to sit in the pool, eat prawns and ribs, drink and generally tell lies, back to Sydney then drive all the way back to Evans Head the following weekend for the first air show of the Oz season for 2018. After that drive back over the Qld border for another week sitting on a mountain in the national park behind Coolangatta. This is my 'slackest' time of the entire year and I am looking forward to it. Hopefully you guys all get to relax with the family, contemplate your naval fluff (its always blue/grey btw) and generally enjoy.

That level of heat is a big Nope from me. The temps in the 30's we've been getting are too hot for me.

Two years ago we copped a 45c scorcher just south of Hobart on xmas day. Way too hot to even move. Don't envy you Sydney guys atm. Should get about 25 this year after a week of 30s.

Merry Christmas to all forum members and a special vote of thanks to all that continue to contribute to our ever increasing knowledge of New Zealand aviation history. My files are so much richer for the detail you provide. A special hearty wish for a great Christmas to our leader, Dave, and his happy bunch of forum moderators for all they do to keep us on the right track.
