Thought I’d create a bit of fun and share the love with the other Warbird nuts out there. I’m in the process of converting my remote control Thunderbolt from a razorback to the later bubble canopy version. Was looking at colour schemes and there are many out there! I have a scheme in mind so I’ve come up with a bit of a comp to see firstly if someone can guess what scheme I have in mind, have the decals already so I won’t be changing my mind on you all. Also second comp what is the most unusual scheme out there for the P47 Thunderbolt. The winners gets a copy of a DVD that I made in 2008, the Warbirds and Classics that have visited Lord Howe Island in the time I have lived here. Sorry the format is PAL so you will have to have a player that works this format. Will include postage to your home, you will have to pm me your address. Features quite a few Kiwi birds, Sea Fury, Zero replica, Grumman Avenger, Beech Staggerwing, Douglas Dakota, Grumman Albatross, A37 Dragonfly and much more.

Yes the Canterbury Crusaders Thunderbolt, thought about that one too already have a RAF Thunderbolt so not this one either. This one of the more unusual schemes for sure, why was this chosen, the CO's aeroplane perhaps, also seams unusual to have an all black paint job in Egypt where it's really hot? PS A bit of an edit seems there is some conversation if she had a red or silver lightning bolt?

If it is 'different' military schemes that you are seeking, then perhaps the (Royal?) Iranian Air Force P47N's would be in that category?
Just a thought...

Anything goes I guess, I just thought I'd come up with something to get people to comment to see what else is out there, as your comment has pointed out I never knew the Iranian's had P47s!
