What was the opposing offers from the US firms? (Bell Sikorsky etc)

Well I just hope the Americans don't run into some of the problems that Australia has had with Eurocopter i.e. Tiger hot/high performance not being exactly what was promised by Eurocopter! The other entrants in the competition were Bell 412 EP, Agusta Westland A139 and the MD Helicopters MD-902.

Yes, that may be so Turbo, but even the cars fly fine in a James Bond movie. ;D
I think the ADF and Eurocopter may have found a solution to some of the problems with the Aussie Tigers. Anyway, we all know the difference between what Defence suppliers say their product can do and reality is often huge.

Have just read in the September edition of Australian Aviation that the CEO of MD Helicopters has lodged a formal protest against the decision to select the Eurocopter EC-145 (Army designation UH-72A) as the US military's light utility helicopter!
All work on the program has been postponed for 90 days while the protest is heard.
