It's great to see Pete Cochran also acknowledged for his four decades of RNZAF service, mostly as a flying instructor and member of the Red Checkers over many, many seasons.

It must be Mr Duxbury's turn next for a gong, surely?

Congratulations to all.
Ian Begbie is well known at Ashburton. Smart enough to have a couple of Piper Cherokees.

Many thanks to one and all for your congratulations and kind remarks.
This will take a little bit of getting use to. Someone even turned up on my doorstep this afternoon seeking my autograph!
Cheers, Errol

It must be Mr Duxbury's turn next for a gong, surely? And needless to say there's a good deal of Duxbury input in my books. Perhaps we could each take turns wearing the medal on alternate days! Cheers, Errol

Outstanding, Mr. Martyn!
These honours are what the system should be all about.
An official getting a gong for just doing their well-paid job, at least semi-competently, for a long time is one thing, but people who make an extraordinary contribution to their community because they are passionate, engaged, and motivated is what really makes me happy to see being recognised.

Congratulations, Errol. It's not just the work you've done that is meritorious, but the generous way you share it with people who hold similar interests.

Well done old fella. All those years of locking yourself away in your darkened office have finally garnered official recognition - and about time.
Agree about Duxbury. Fully deserved, like Mr Martyn.
