Is it just me, or has the Key Publishing FlyPast Forum died? I have not been able to get in for days.

It was up briefly yesterday, after being down for a few days - they have changed the format (most people seem to hate it) - and said they are struggling with a few issues at the mo..... After it was down for the weekend (with a note up), it appeared with the new format (last night I think, so Monday AM their time). It was mentioned that performance was bad while they indexed everything, so maybe they have pulled the plug again while the new set-up sorts itself out.

All I was getting for days was a security warning, no notice about it being rebuilt. Then today it just was not opening in the good old fashioned way.

Now I am back to the security warning. WTF is wrong with their site?

Now I am back to the security warning. WTF is wrong with their site? The very terse and minimal communications on the change stated that it was for security reasons. Are you still using an old operating system and browser Dave? You might be rejected due to using stuff known to be insecure. Also check that you are using https: (rather than http:) in the address (modern browsers try https first).

I am on Windows 10 Pro and the latest version of Chrome. Here's a screenshot of the warning I am getting. When I manually type in the https prefix I get another warning that the site's IP does not exist.

Dave, depending on your browser of choice you may get more or less info about the issue. Firefox will give you this, which is why it blocks the site, and this is to save you from exposure to man-in-the-middle attack. My professional experiences of this issue suggest to me that they have built a new server to host the forums and have made a hash of it by not installing either a correct or valid certificate.

If you go to keypublishing. com it is ok. I'm not sure when they changed from .co.uk to .com, but it was a while ago because that is where my shortcut is set to. So if you are still pointing to .co.uk it doesn't work any more.

Hmm, you're right Errol. So what they have done is they have changed their domain, no wonder it would not open using their old domain. Not clever.

I wonder if the search engine there will actually work now that they have an all new forum. It has not worked properly for about six years.

The new look is a bit yuck too, a step backwards for an already flagging forum imho. Lots of white space, low contrast, changed subscribe settings, no warning of change, no help thread set up by support people to assist with new interface.

A help thread would be no help when you cannot actually get in. They should have emailed every member with the new url for a start.

It actually changed a while ago, they just stopped accepting the old one with the new setup. But yes, they should have at least sent a message before taking it offline to make the changes.

I have had it bookmarked since about 2003 so I am sure a lot of people will be in the same boat finding their bookmarked link no longer working.
