What is 0.2 nautical miles in metres?
If this was such a big deal why has this taken nearly three years to hit the media? Is there a media blitz targeting Airways now after the Napier controller's car broke down and upset some precious politician? Are they digging back through old files looking for more "big" stories?

The video clip shows an air accident, but there's no clarification that it is totally unconnected to the Hamilton findings! That is just crap journalism at its worst! Lately I have noticed basically every video clip on Newshub, and on the Herald site, seem to be totally unconnected to the actual written story. I honestly despair of how dreadful all the news agencies are these days.

Thanks Ian. That does not seem scarily close, as such, but it is closer than they should be.

There have been a few near-misses in the Hamilton area. Our pilot logged one with CAA in March near Temple View after we were cleared in not knowing there was an orbiting craft coming straight for us. My Mrs in the front-right let out an 'exclamation statement' before the pilot had seen it. Way too close. I was looking out the other side so missed it but it apparently was way way too close... closer than this story.

Dave, it would of course depend on a number of things, if the aircraft were converging at speed, 370m might not seem very far at all, ok if they were on a similar flight path. isc

Because the TAIC report was just released regarding it
