Back in 1957 Airwork (NZ) Ltd., the NZ agents for Piper, imported PA18A Super Cub 150 c/n 18-6148 and registered it as ZK-BTL on 21st November. In February 1958 ownership of this aircraft was transferred to G P Buglar of Picton. Mr Buglar owned the aircraft for just two months, sending it north to Palmerston North based Aerial Farming of NZ Ltd. in April 1958.
Now, the question is who was Mr Buglar, and why did he acquire a brand new 150hp Cub in the days when such imports were strictly rationed? I cannot find any other aircraft that he owned, either before or since that date. Any ideas, leads or thoughts? Cub 150 ZK-BTL at Wanganui in 1959

Don't have access to my log books at the moment however I did a PA18/150 rating with Brian Milne in the Palmerston North Flying School Cub around 1966 and I think it was ZK-BTL

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Mr Buglar applied (more than once) for an Aerial Work Licence but didn’t get one?
