Hello all,
Nick McIndoe from 'NZ Aviation News'. Would anyone know how to get in touch with Robbie Booth who used to own/display the Hawker Fury we had in NZ?
Or does anyone have any contacts with any current Sea Fury display pilots around the world or any former RAN Sea Fury pilots?
It's for an article idea I have.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Nick.

Hawker Fury: Unsure if they have any historic interest, but I've just acquired 3 160mm x 120mm b & w photos of these aircraft enclosed in a bundle of very early magazines. 2 show side profiles (port and starboard) and the third a 3/4 front view of 4 of the aircraft lined up on grass adjacent to a building with a windsock on the roof. No identifying information on the reverse but the quality implies they may be official or professionally done. The page is reluctant to allow me to add the snaps but happy to forward on request.

Grant Beil ferried the ex Ardmore based "Sea Fury 14" across the ditch three times, I am no sure if he used to display her. Australian Nigel Arnott used to display the same machine in Australia, he also took her across and back from Oz to fly her at one of the early 2000's Warbirds over Wanaka. I do not have contact details, I'm sure they wouldn't be hard to find. I'm sure it was mentioned in a recent Classic Wings she was being restored to fly, with Ross Pay out at Scone, after a long time grounded.

Last I read was that VH-SHF was headed back to the UK for restoration, staying with the same Australian owner.
Regarding Grant Biel taking her to Oz, I do know she participated in a few of the Skyrace Tasmania events in the 1990s with Robbie Booth at the helm. Nigel Arnot brought her "home" for Warbirds Over Wanaka 2002.
