Hi All, I took this photo at the opening of Auckland International Airport opening in 1966 and would like to identify it. www.airliners.net/open.file/0270828/L/I am not sure if I have the date right and it could be the 29 or 30th. I am assuming it was the same plane used on each day but could be wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Colin

According to "Golden Age of NZ Flying Boats" (Harrison, Lockstone, Anderson) "D" was NZ4107, which was struck off charge in May 1967 and scrapped at Hobsonville. Other 'boats wore the "D" code, but always with KN or XX squadron codes. Nice picture - you dont see colour shots of Sunderlands that often.
