Hi I happened to be near Lake Rotorua on Saturday and caught the Volcanic Air Safaris Otter and Cessna landings. The birds certainly scatter when the aircraft come in to land. VAS down wind just before landing. EFI homewood bound. Seagulls in the back ground. Some nice late afternoon activity and the sun coming out at just the right time. Colin

The weather gods must be with you. Whenever I have been there, its always rain/wind/low cloud.

Colin, fantastic images there - but what, no ducks? ;D Thanks and there were Ducks and Swans closer inshore. ;D They have a big sign up Do NOT feed birds. Swans can attack small children. The tourists still feed the birds though. In a visit previously I asked some tourists if they could speak English and they said "Yes" and I said "Please read the sign it says Do NOT feed birds". They looked at me sort of funny like and walked away still hesitantly feeding the birds. Apparently the council had to cull a few as there was too many and they make a mess of the foreshore and fight for the food. The Swans during breeding season get aggressive and attack small children if they get too close. Colin

It does have some fine spells and can get very hot in mid summer January - February. The hot pools make up for the cooler times and great for my arthritis. Colin

Doesn't have quite the same ring as "A dingo stole my baby" though! ;D
