Yesterday saw two RAAF F-111s complete a flypast over the base. They travelled North to South which took them straight over the hangars, and they then shot through Taylor pass at low level. The photo below is not the greatest as the aircraft came out of the hills and I didnt see them until it was to late. The guys in the tower said the lead aircraft was doing 565 knots. Well done to the RAAF you sure put a smile on my face.

He's got the Pave Tack pod deployed, so I'd say the target was well and truly plastered. ;D

I'd avoid it too if I was doing 500+ knots with all that GA training around the place!
Great photo Gavin, you captured it well, especially as it was a sort of 'shoot from the hip' shot!

Top shot Gavin. yep that pave tack is looking back - proabably at point of impact. I think those things take up what was the internal bomb bay.

I believe the default "cruise" setting is reverse for the P/T pod is facing rearward.

Yep, the pod takes up the bomb bay - which used to house the internal 20mm rotary cannon.
