Shockwave: An Australian Combat Helicopter Crew In Vietnam
Author: Peter Haran ISBN: 1741100453 Binding: Paperback No of Pages: 240
Have just finished reading this book based mainly on the experiences of three RAAF crewmen - Norm Goodall, John Scott, and Neville Sinkinson - who flew with 9SQN during operations in Vietnam between 1968 and 1971.
A very good read with a lot of interesting detail about life as a pilot or gunner on Iroquois slicks (Albatrosses) or gunships (Bushrangers) during some of the major operations around Phuoc Thuy province in South Vietnam.
There is even some mention of a Kiwi pilot who flew with 9SQN and also the NZ Infantry company attached to 4RAR in 1971.
Quite sad at the end to read what happened to the three crewmen after their return to Australia, and of the lasting impact their experiences in Vietnam have had on them.

The Kiwi pilot's name is Chris Peters, but it doesn't say whether he was a Kiwi serving in the RAAF or a Kiwi on secondment from the RNZAF or NZ Army to the RAAF.
