Does the autobiography 'Ski Plane Adventure' by Harry Wigley, who started Mount Cook Airways, include his memoirs of his war years? He did three tours on fighter in the Pacific, the first with 14 Sqn as Flight Commander, the second as CO of 19 Sqn, and the third as overall commander of four fighter squadrons. So I'll bet he had a story to tell.
But does the book cover this period? I note it comes up often on TradeMe

I remember reading this book at my school library years ago.I enjoyed it alot. Some chapters are about his wartime experiances, but just as informative the chapters on the creation of Mount Cook buses and airlines early routes. He tells of his early flights in the ski equiped Auster.Which he used to fly tourists around the Mount Cook area. This aircraft Auster ZK-BDX survives and now suspended in the Queenstown airport terminal.
My copy is an old book with Queenstown Public Library written on it .It adds to the character of the book I think.
Dave ,I am surprized you hav'nt got this one yet :-)

Well, I will have it soon. I bid on the link Joe posted and 40 minutes later I'd won it. I deposited the osh this arvo, so in a few days it'll be in my library.
Thanks guys for helping me out on this. I have looked at it loads of times coming up on TradeMe, it's a common book it seeems. I always wondered if it included his wartime experiences and never knew. Now I'm looking forward to it.
