Aircraft tampering at Timaru airport investigated The Timaru Herald | Thursday, 06 March 2008 Police are investigating an incident at Timaru Airport where an Eagle Air plane was interfered with, causing the cancellation of a flight to Christchurch. The Eagle Air flight was cancelled after signs the aeroplane was tampered with on Tuesday morning. Eagle Air Spokesperson Mark Street said the police were called after it appeared that someone had tried to tamper with the aircraft. Seventeen of the 18 passengers on board the early morning flight were bused to Christchurch airport. A police investigation has been launched following the incident. Mr Street said the plane was grounded while all the necessary checks were carried out. Air NZ/Eagle Air don't fly between Timaru & Christchurch. Only flights to/from Timaru are from Wellington
