I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but the Norfolk Island airline is to start charter flights between Hamilton and Norfolk Island soon, this month I think. Perhaps an opportunity for our planespotters and photogs to get some interesting shots?

they are using the super high tech ozjet(albeit in norfolk colors) 737-200. Norfolk Island flights halved By KATHY GRAHAM - Waikato Times | Monday, 17 March 2008 Norfolk Air has dumped two of the four return charter flights it planned to Hamilton during the Hamilton 400 V8 Supercars event after a delay in receiving approval from New Zealand authorities. Australian airline Ozjet, which operates the Norfolk Island Legislative Assembly-owned airline headed by Hamiltonian chief executive Ewan Wilson, applied for approval from the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority and Transport Ministry, at the same time seeking permission for a scheduled service to Palmerston North. Mr Wilson said the application was delayed when Ozjet, asked to prove it was Australian-owned for the Palmerston North flights, had to make some changes to its board. Under the rules Ozjet's Australian Air Operating Certificate entitles it to operate two charter flights into New Zealand without extra permission. "As time was running out and a number of potential passengers were saying they would not book until the flights were approved we decided we would just operate two flights," Mr Wilson said. The two return Boeing 737-200 flights will operate on April 17 and 24, departing Norfolk Island at 1pm and arriving at Hamilton at 3.25pm. The flights will enable Norfolk Islanders to fly in for the Hamilton 400 V8 Supercars while New Zealanders escape to Norfolk Island for seven nights.
