Steve, I'm guessing that it is either NZ1041 or NZ1044, which were the two used by NAC, and later, Air New Zealand as apprentice training airframes at Harewood.
Their was another thread about these two airframes some time ago, and I believe both are now under restoration to fly again.

I just made the assumption that they'd both been inherited by Air New Zealand after the demise of NAC?
The plot thickens?

Ah, so that's how it all happened. I recall sitting in one of those Harvards at Harewood in around about 1981; there were two in the hangar together, but only god knows which one I actually sat in.
Great photo, by the way: thanks for posting.

I think they were both in Air NZ colours, but I'm not 100% sure.

Do you guys have a photo link to the ANZ livery Harvard? The NAC livery is cool, and should stay that way if restored. Equally, a Pacific Wave AT-6 would also be a winner. Imagine an NAC/ANZ pair aerobatic display with red/aqua smoke! Rob Fyfe, I hope you monitor this site, engineer extraodinaire!

Here's the link to the original thread with a photo of NZ1041: rnzaf.proboards43.com/index.cgi?board=Airshows&action=display&thread=1178362521I notice it mentions that NZ1041 was taken to Mangere, so maybe my memory is well and truly going, and maybe there was only the one Harvard at Harewood? I also noticed that in that thread I said the Harvard I sat in was in NAC colours! Now that I think about it again, it may well have been.

Hello
The photo is definitely NZ1044 at Harewood ... early only.... it was painted all white around 1978 (NAC - ANZ merger). NZ1044 went to Harewood (NAC) originally in 1971...and NZ1041 went to Manger (ANZ) ... also in 1971. Both stopped flying in 1963.
NZ1041 went back down South after ANZ closed the Apprentice School in Auckland... around 1988. It was painted in various shades of the ANZ - Teal colours over the years.
I've NZ1041 at Omaka - starting the rebuild to fly...and NZ1044 is just out of Rolleston - saw it at Xmas...not much work yet done on it...but it too is going to be Returned to Fly.
Great photos - thanks !
Rgds John.

Just got hold of the following photo of NZ1044. Date is Christchurch 4Apr1972. So it was still in RNZAF colours at that stage, and backs up the timing for the repaint as discussed above.
