Sadly I can't get the clips to open. It's my PC, not the clips.
Did both Bristol Fighters fly together? (the real one and the replica one)?

Sadly I can't get the clips to open. It's my PC, not the clips. Did both Bristol Fighters fly together? (the real one and the replica one)? Are you on broadband Dave? They are not very big or the web site might be busy. Both Bristol Fighters? Are there two? I can only find one on the CAA register and it had a change of paint 24 Nov 2005 effective 14 Dec 2006 and assumed it was the same one? ZK-JNU was the reg and it was originally N624. Reg was cancelled in US in 2002. Help can someone please advise? Colin

Yes there are at least two and possibly three here . One in a silver scheme is a replica which runs a Ranger engine and this had a major engine problem at the last Omaka airshow , I think it is resident there . The one pictured here is the new one Peter Jackson bought from the UK recently . This aircraft has an original RR Falcon engine . The fuselage frame is one of those discovered being used as a roof truss in the UK quite a few years ago . There was a claim in an earlier thread that Peter Jackson already had another one under restoration at Omaka .

The silver-grey Ranger-engined replica is based at Masterton according to the Old Stick and Rudder Company's site. The one flown at the show is genuine as Kiwi says, and was rebuilt by The Fighter Collection. It flew with two other genuine examples at Duxford and Old Warden last year before coming to NZ. One of the other two, formerly owned by Guy Black, was sold to a museum in Canada where it will probably remain grounded.
It has been mentioned on several forums that another of the fuselages found at Weston On The Green was swapped from the RAF Museum by Peter Jackson for a turret for their Hudson, and it is either stored or under restoration. I don't know how accurate this is.
I wonder if there are any relics left of genuine NZPAF Brisfits anywhere?

When last at Hood airfield about four years ago there was a good collection of RNZAF 1/72 models in a sort of museum which I could only view through grubby windows as everything was closed . Also in there was a Chrislea Super Ace under restoration . Did anyone who went to the show see these , and what state were they in ? Has it been determined if the show was a success , I realise the number of weekends avaliable are limited but feel it was unfortunate that they chose the same one as the A1 event at Taupo

I believe their Hind was one of the 3 1/2 Hinds that I saw at Subritskys near Dairy Flat last year . Which Chrislea Super Ace is it and what was the fate of the other one?

Indeed, the Hind is being restored by the Subritzkys but it was taken down and displayed in the hangar for the 2005 WoW airshow. I wondered if it was again this time, and how far it had progressed. Have you any pohotos from your visit last year? I last saw it two years ago, and though looking very lovely it had a way to go yet before completion.
