Bet they wished they had a drag chute for emergencies to slow things down and to keep the aircraft straight. The A-4 drag chute was very good at this, although I guess maintaining directional control once you have slowed down will always be difficult.
Also not sure about the location of the back seaters hands if they had ejected! Resting on the canopy glareshield is probably not the recommended position! In the TA-4 the back seat glareshield was attached to the canopy so if that jettisoned you didn't want your hands anywhere near it! I'm not sure about the Super Hornet. Clearly the guy in front is doing the "flying"! Great photos though.
