Very interesting photos Gav. The Checkers shot is spectacularly confusing! Wonderful! I like the shot of the C-47 too.
What's the little yellow homebuild thing? It has a very dark canopy, eh.
Were all the shots from the Hercules taken during the one sortie? If so it must have been quite a big deal sorting out aircraft getting all them up at once. It's also interesting to see the RNZAF provide a C-130 for media work. Would this have come out of their airshow budget or did the media pay for the use of the aircraft? Just wondering.

All aircraft were photographed on the same flight. The yellow aircraft is the Furio. The flight started out as a Red Checkers photo shoot as the back ground lent itself to some nice photos and it was the first time that the Checkers had been photographed from the rear of a Hercules. A few other aircraft joined in as well. With all of the pilots being very experienced it all flowed well and like usual it all happened to quickly.

Thanks. it was the first time that the Checkers had been photographed from the rear of a Hercules. First time this season or first time ever? It seems odd if it's never been done before as they've done lots of photoshoots with other RNZAF aircraft in the past out the back of the ramp.

Not sure exactly Dave but one of the RNZAF staff there mentioned it was the first time and I would have thought it would have been done before as well but perhaps some of the other ex RNZAF guys can confirm one way or another? Will be out of town again for the next week or to so catch you later
