I have read on a number of threads on UK forums that passenger flights on Dakotas and other such vintage aircraft in the UK and all of Europe will cease for good within the next few months due to mindless EU rulings. Why anyone wants to be in the EU makes no sense imho. I hope that there will never be such a threat to the likes of the Dakotas, Rapides, Dragon, Catalina and other types that take thrilled passengers on nostalgic flights here in NZ. Does anyone think that our government will follow suit? I really hope not. Just take a look at this thread, it's so sad to see what the beaureaucrats have done in Britain: forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=81153

It's typical of the useless CAA here, all they are interested in is revenue generation...which effectively means they focus 99.5% of their effort on airlines. The guy who was tasked with trying to get this stoopid bit of EU law anulled under the national veto rule...is the same plank that proposed this new rule in the first place! Its a bloody sad state of affairs.
