I spent a couple of days in Christchurch with fellow spotter Graham enjoying the cooler climate. My first time to CHC in winter and it is a contrast to the summer experience. We also went to the Ashburton Aviation Museum and I will make a new thread for that fantastic visit. Just one to start with taken Tuesday morning in a temperature of -4 C with a nice frost over the grass and everything else too! More to come later when fully thawed out. ;D Colin

Again Colin, wonderful images there.
The anti-shake must really come into play on a cold morning like that! ;D
Were all those photos taken from around near the Airport Fire Station?

Thanks for all your comments and the karma much appreciated.
Craig yes it was next to the Fire Station in that corner. Good place to get the alps in the back ground.
Cheers

Colin, I (mis)spent many days of my youth planespotting from that exact location - but of course that was back in the days when the airport was only surrounded by a 4 foot high fence. Another favourite spot of mine was back down the road at the end of the runway 11/29 when there was a nor-west wind blowing.

Those photos are wonderful! Really different from those we usually see here. Well done Colin and thanks for braving the conditions for us to see them. I'll bet a piping hot cuppa was most welcome ater that session.

I bet the skippers are inside the warm cockpit doing the "internals" whilst the Co is outside doing the external ;-)

Nice photos Beagle, the fences kind of add to the atmosphere of the photos, even if they are a tad annoying. Make the most of that background
