Was in Christchurch for a meeting today and had time to go and test drive a car before the flight home. You just cant take a photo of a car without and aeroplane in the background. The car was great by the way.

Hi Gavin and the rest. Love the car and the plane!!! In the same mold... ;D (pun intended) is a pic I took in 2004 of the plastic Spit here in Hams. From the same mold as the one in your pics. Marcus

Ever notice how the prop on the replica is set up for the opposite rotation to the original? Reason is the replica prop is mocked up from a HS 748 prop. Could never figure out why , after Continental Caterers bought the Brevet Club building, it was knocked down and the area has been vacant ever since. I would have thought the income derived from it would be better than just having a blank space. I remember going to numerous events there, Mt Cook used to hire it regularly as did Mobil.

Talking about cars and 'planes, I was driving up the North Island today and at the bridge over the Manawatu river at Foxton this..... .........was spraying the feilds on both sides of the road, so naturally I stopped to get some pics, as you you don't often get to catch these guys working. I lined up for what I thought would be a good shot and just as I pushed the button a car came past, damn, I thought, a shot ruined, but now that I look at it I kind of like the result.

Yeah, that is a really neat shot. What is that aeroplane? I wonder what visibility is like on the ground.

Is that Hal Griffin's Ag Cat? Not quite in the same class as Grumman's other "cat" products like the Hellcat, Bearcat and Tomcat.

I always thought the Ag Cat had a radial engine, is this one heavily modified?

I always thought the Ag Cat had a radial engine, is this one heavily modified? The Ag Cat is like the Fletcher - it has grown over the years, with different powerplants to lift the extra load.
