That does look pretty damp! I trust that you and the other Blenheim forumites are all O.K down there. I like the Slippery when wet sign! (On my trip up to Thames the other day I spotted a sign saying "conserve water" - surrounded by muddy brown lake!)

According to the high tide mark on my car tire there was 2.5 inches of water in my front yard yesterday/overnight. My front yard is a concrete pad that sits 3-4 inches above the neighbours yard meaning they had half a foot of water thru their yard.
Im guessing the price of wine will increase next year due to the number of vineyards flooded and the damage and loss caused by the flooding.

Yeah, the wife and I had a similar comment about the next harvest after seeing Gavin's pics.
Thank goodness we only drink red! ;D

Jeepers. That looks very nasty Gav. I always wondered when I lived there why Woodbourne had all those stopbanks in the barren dry desertous paddocks. I guess this is why.
Perhaps they can produce rice wine, it looks more like paddyfields now.
I wonder if any more ex-RNZAF aircraft have washed out of the dumps along the river there in this storm, it might pay you to go have a wander when its dry.
How is the covering on the Skyhawks holding up in this weather?

I'm glad I was out of the country last week. I was bronzing myself in the Brisbane sun. That is some serious rainfall.

We had a lot more rain last night but dont know if any further damages was done. The vineyards have stood up pretty well, the grape plants are tough little buggers and the damage doesnt look to bad from what I have seen. Lots of diggers around the place cleaning things up just like there is in many other parts of the country.

Hey Gavin, any chance of some photos of the Whitehawks - I'm interested to see how the covering fared over the past week!

I lived in Blenheim for all of 2002 and 2003 and recognise where all those images are. Yep a little bit of water. Of my time there, some of the spots never had a drop in them.
