One in 1/48 would be brilliant as well.
Are these the old Matchbox moulds?

No, airfix had their own, and a lot better than the Matchbox ones by all accounts.
I've got a 1/48 scale one, made by aeroclub. Not built mind you, in keeping with 99% of my models....

Didn't Airfix always used to do RNZAF markings in their Jet Provost Mk. V kit? Or am I mistaken - I never made it myself but seem to recall hearing they had NZ markings.

Not all of them, I've seen some on ebay with RAF JP and Omani(?) Strikemaster markings.

About a year after I paid a whole heap more for one on trademe than what the new ones will be selling for Which markings you get depend on which release you have. I think the original 1976 (?) release had Omani and British (JP5) markings. The late 80's edition I have has the 14 Sqn markings. I have a Matchbox blunty to compare it too, and the Airfix effort is an order of magnitude better, and not too bad for a 70's airfix mould. It's simple and basic, but still one of the better Airfix efforts. The Matchbox kit has always had RNZAF markings, maybe that is the one you were thinking of Dave.

I made the Matchbox kit as a kid, in RNZAF markings. But yes, I'd heard the Airfix kit had themarkings too. I didn't realise it was only from the 198-'s onwards.
Airfix kit - simple and basic? Must have been spot on, the Blunty was simple and basic in the flesh. Great little jets though.

Just coming out in the UK now, AFAIK it was never issued up here with RNZAF markings only Omani ones, if it had I'd had a couple as I was doing 1/72nd in those days.
Trevor Snowden did say that the markings had changed for the UK market.
