Not built one but saw it at a couple of shows from mid last year and it looked OK. AZ previously released this kit with NZ markings [NZ203] about two years ago and I was tempted but 1/72 is a lot to fiddily for me so passed it up.

Well, the alternative is the Pegasus Avro Tutor I modified to make my 626 (which is a terrible kit!) so this cant be any worse! (if you read the ad text Mr W.E Coyote needs a quick update on where NZ203 ended up...)

Mr Coyote should also be interrogated about the markings in the kit as according to the listings I have seen this particular boxing has markings for the RAF, China and Czechoslovakia [licence built as Tatra T-126] . No suggestion of any RNZAF ones.

There is more than one boxing of this kit , 7230 has options for RAF 1937, China 1936 , Czechoslovak 1938 and describes the kit as an Avro 626 Prefect / Tatra T 126 . To me the "RAF" option looks more like Canadian or maybe South African , the serial is certainly not RAF . 7229 has options for NZ 203 , Luftwaffe 1940 and two Portugese 1939 . The kits are identicle apart from the decal sheeets and box art . 20 cleanly moulded injection parts , fine detail not at all chunky like the Pegasus kits . 3 resin , engine , floor and upper wing centresection . As the upper wing is supplied complete and there is no mention of alternate arrangements this resin part is a bit of a mystery , but maybe a look in Putnams Avro book will provide a clue . What looks like a stainless steel etch set with details and prepainted instrument panels and asheet of printed acetate for windscreens . There is no Scarff ring just the faired over position . All in all it looks good .

Last night I had a quick look at a Swedish Hart (radial engine) and the Gauntlet . Both look good , the Gauntlet comes with Danish and RAF decals .
