Stunning photo that first one Gavin. The Fox Moth is a beautiful machine.
Ryan can probably answer this, as the pilot in the Fox Moth seems to sit so far back and I assume possibly further aft than the centre of gravity, when there are no passengers and the cabin is empty does any counter-balance weight have to be carried up front to ensure trim is maintained?

Depends how fat the pilot really is, if its me then yes (although the the aircraft doesnt really care, you dont run out of trim or control effectiveness) but if its Jerry probably no. Although the pilots seat is a long way back there is quite a bit of aircraft in front to balance things out, the structure ahead of the wings is quite solid and the engine is hung quite a way forward. I measured the distance from the cockpit to the spinner a while ago and its approx 1ft longer than a MkV Spit (only going from memory here so forgive any inaccuracy)

Thanks Ryan. Is the forward visibility a problem on the ground then, like the Spitfire?
